Is System supose to take up 82 000k Mem usage?

Ive noticed that my computer has been running slower now a days and ive noticed that when i go to my task manager and look at "System" its uses about 82, 500k. Is that normal?

what OS do you have?

ok lemme see, I have XP, and my "System" process uses 236K memory, and 28K VM... 82500 is way too much, but then again the running windows system itself uses a lot more ram than that, however this will not be shown in the task manager... usually

according to this source: http://apcmag.com/forum.htm?g=posts&t=1057
avg is causing it, maybe you could look into that? (uninstall it and see if that helps)
but that is a strange symptom tbh.
