Heatsink Problem

today i buyied a xp1800+... my heatsink is a tt volcano 9.
my temps. are idle 59° ! i cant believe it! i know that is too much and i know that this heatsink could make it better!
can you help me??

Did you add theraml compound on the bottom? Did you just add a real thin layer? Are you 100% positive that the heatsink is completely flat and level on the Proc?

you have to have some kind of thermal compound on there otherwise you will not have good contact for the heatsink.. I belive you forgot or didnt know about the compound and thats why its so high. you would know if you put it on or not. Youll be fine once you put some on
