You are correct, but unlike everything you have listed a video game can be patched over a network. That means the customer has a 0% effort in fixing the game, with a click of a button you can patch your game and everything will work properly. You just have to wait a little longer. Again, it is not like they are shrugging and saying oh well. They are admitting fault, and are working on resolving the issues. |

http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...d.php?t=368423 Sorry but nothing you can say will make this okay in my eyes. I dont care if they fix it within the next 24 hours. It should never have happened. |

some of the current amazon reviews nailed it on the head at the level of user frustration: you're better off finding some muscle head and paying them $60 to hit you in the mouth. at least you get something for your money and the pain would only last for so long. others are saying you're paying $60 for an extended tutorial and a waiting screen. |

@DarkTower87
I am not trying to change your mind, but simply stating in what my thoughts are. I work in Live Chat customer service for an award winning software developer for a living (No, not EA or any sort of other video game company), and I can tell you EA does not probably back this single customer support rep. He was basically backed into a corner by an upset customer, and was trying to take control of the situation. I can almost guarantee you that not every customer support rep is "threatening to ban" anyone. @bravotsx I am not saying it is forgivable at all. They should give compensation, but not a refund. You have bought their product, and their Return Policy is pretty common knowledge by today where if you buy a PC video game you will be unable to return it for any other reason other than the CD-Key was stolen out of the box. I agree with the upset customer in that it is defective, but again they can be patched and most likely will be within 24 to 48 hours. As for getting off work early, by now since it is day 2 or 3 you should know that this may happen and you will read something on gaming sites that SimCity has been patched. |

They aren't banning people for requesting refunds.
Also, they knew this was going to happen. They may have underestimated how bad it was going to be, but they were 100% aware there would be launch issues. |

I finally was able to get on a good solid 4 hours of play on the Oceanic server late last night. Gotta say it was quite fun once I got things going.
Proper capacity planning is key for any launch, I work for a .com and when we know there will be a big influx it's time to load test and plan accordingly... But I guess common sense doesnt work for all companys (not that mine is great...) |

I hate the way this game is making me play it. Basic services are now insanely expensive because you have to SPECIALIZE your city and SHARE resources and services with other players.
In SimCity 4, I could plop down a small fire/police/clinic to take care of these things. Now you have to spend $20k on a firestation so you can recoup the costs by selling your coverage to the other cities in your region. This is just ****ing ******ed. |
