2m ppd?

Just built Rig #5 yesterday. Picked up a used EVGA 980 SC.

I'm curious to see if I can hit 2M PPD with this new addition.

I'm not sure if you can hit 2M either, but I'm looking forward to find out!

Jim,
I just noticed your signature says you're running your 970s in SLI. For folding, how does your PPD compare to running them independently? Have you ever done a comparison?

They don't run as SLI in Folding. Each card is accessed separately as it's own slot. I have had the display driver in SLI and not. It doesn't seem to make any difference although I didn't do much testing.

i have read that when folding, it helps to not have sli enabled as it can mess with the client, but i never had problems personally

Just swapped out the 980 Classified with a 980 SC my son bought. Turns out he's been looking for a Classified and couldn't believe I scored one by complete accident (I had no idea what the Classified designator meant). The things we do for our kids....

The Classified is MUCH larger in both height and length, also larger fans. It also comes with a large metal plate for stiffneww and better heat transfer. There's a slider switch on the Classified that I think you can flash 3 different firmware. I was just looking for a used 980 at a decent price and just happened to buy a Classified. So it seems the Classified is more configurable. I don't have the time to fiddle with these GPUs and my son was clearly excited about swapping and playing around with the Classified.

the classified has far better overclock-ability and has a better factory overclock
