Smile PPD expected from my CPU.

Hello, my friends. I am baffled why the CPU in a folding rig earns so few PPD.

My folding PC consists of a i5-6600K, GTX 970, w/ 8GB 2666 memory.

I average 300k +/- PPD, where most of that comes from the GPU. The CPU only gets about 10-15k PPD. Is this about par for the coarse?

Sounds slightly low on the CPU but not substantially since it depends on your overclock.
Average is usually 20k for the 6600k.
The GPUs are just substantially more powerful processing chips the way folding works and generate that much more PPD.

Yes, that's pretty much spot on. CPU folding earns very few points these days compared to GPU folding. Earning 300k ppd with a 970 is right on the average mark. Fold on!

Edit: BTW, do you have a password associated with your F@H user name? Using that password can greatly imporove your ppd production.

Thanks, Spartacus. I'm wary of overclocking, though, I did to select a good mobo if I ever want to go that route.

Thanks, 68Olds. Yes, I did do that really long password thing.
