Fear 3 Sp?

I know it's not likely very good. But i need a SP game to occupy my time for a few days and i'm wondering if this is any good having has the previous ones. I'm also very into horror type games. So that you can gauge whether i might like it enough to make it worth getting, I loved the original, and tho I felt FEAR 2 wasn't near as good, I'd be good with it if the SP is close to as good as FEAR 2. Should i get it?

Fear 3 sucks. Big time. It's nothing like 1.

I found it extremely lacking - which is a huge disappointment as I loved FEAR 1 & 2.

It's all about achievements and **** - very little horror. Graphics are pretty lackluster as well.

I even bought it on preorder - I can't express how disappointed I am with it. On STEAM, I've played it for 56 minutes. That's all.

Graphics look like 1 and the game play is NOT eery at all. The comedy thrown in is stupid as well.

****, well thank. How about something also cheap in the horror shooter genre for SP? Of if not hoor at least a good sp shooter. Already recently played ME 2, dead space 2, metro 2033, left for dead. Don't like borderlands, already played most of the big names like the UT series, HL Fc etc. Anything else cheap and decent for SP sci-fi/horror ? Loves ta kill me some monsters !

Well... There's Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It's not a shooter, but it's one of the scariest games I've ever played.

I have GOW, but not Bulletstorm. But I watched a video but it seemed a bit too typical. hard to explain....like a caricature of the worse details of all the shooters in the last 5 years. Still it seems like one of the only options left, so maybe. Could be I'd evn up liking it more than the video i watched. (also, games for windows are PITA)

Bulletstorm I greatly enjoyed. Not worth full admission but another $10 - $15 worthy title. My main complaint was it was too short. Play on the hardest difficulty to get the most enjoyment out of it (if you like a challenge and want it to last longer). Has some minor replay value though not too much.

Just watched a alan wake gameplay vid....looks pretty good. Seems i'd like it. But let me ask you this Urbanfox...seems to be at least 2 of them but are there more, how many, which are best, and are they the same as far as engine/graphics/physics or have they advanced since the original ?

There is the main game and there are two DLC's I believe.

The main game is just "Alan Wake".

DEFINITELY a good horror/thriller IMO.

Seems it's available at frys just 10 minutes from me for $20, so i'll go pick it up tomorrow. Thanks. By the way, when you say DLC's you mean expansions? If so, what are they called ?

The "special episodes" here I think: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Wake

You'll enjoy it for sure, it has a great atmosphere/story.

There is no sequel, just add-ons to the original. I don't know if they are stand alone or not. You should definitely play the first one first.

Well, i'm just going by what it says in that wiki article. It mentions the downloadable content you talked about the says
Quote:
Alan Wake's American Nightmare, a full stand-alone title, was released in February 2012 on the Xbox Live Arcade service.[8] The game will not constitute a direct sequel to Alan Wake, and no plans have been announced for a sequel (or "season two") for the original game. Remedy have stated, however, that they are not yet done with Alan Wake.[9]
I guess it's basically a sequel regardless of what they call it, but in any case i didn't buy it today as i said I was going to because it was $30 not $20 as i thought. I would have bought it on ebay for $14 but i needed a game now for an extended weekend i have. So i grabbed bulletstorm for my time off and will get AW later on from ebay at less than 1/2 of what frys wanted when i'm done with bulletstorm.
