Dual/triple/Quad channel memory only means that all sticks are matched to the same speeds/timings/vdimm... so using all four sticks in a dual channel motherboard will work, just not in dual or quad channel mode.

for a gaming rig what is the moderate speed i should be looking for, 2100MHz, 1866MHz or 1600MHz?

i dont think you would notice much difference between 1600 and 2100 tbh, maybe in benches but not in games
|
