I'm more concerned about MBs and their quality/performance/price. Even best CPU can be a nasty surprise on lousy chipset. I'll probably start with 6/12 Ryzen and see where it gets me to on a good MB. It will be couple of month until everything gets to be available locally so it will be enough time to evaluate everything. OC ability will also be a very important factor.
So, R5 Pro 1600 is my most likely suspect.

I am not going to post them here as I cannot attest to validity, but a crapload of new benchmarks just showed up online and the numbers are staggering. A few even show the 1500 6C/12T chips marching past Intels high end offerings in benches. If this stuff is legit and so is the pricing... both camp users are going to be jumping for joy. AMD camps get the chip they were promised, Intel camps get the prices they wanted... I cannot believe the single thread performance growth they are producing with these.

Scott, that's why I didn't want to link them. We both know how that crap is, and I for one am not going to spread falsehoods if its the case. However being said there are usually truthful ones out early too. Its a matter of figuring out which are which.

FWIW, I have seen a couple real benchmarks....in person. I have also seen 8c/16t on LN2.
AMD enthusiasts will be happy with Ryzen.

Point being no Bulldozer reenactment. Jim Keller on this project was the best thing for AMD since... Jim Keller on K7/K8. Granted he hasn't been with them for over a year, but he was the one who laid the groundwork for what will inevitably be a much better competitor to Intel then what AMD has had before it.

I'll see the cost of processor first and might upgrade RAM later on. Wasn't thinking bout best memory yet. Funny but no 3000MH and up RAM on that list. 2666 at most, even Samsung.

There is 3000 mhz on that list. Most of them are 4gb x 4 kits though. and the 8gb ones are from manufacturers ive never heard of.

Zen+ in all likelyhood for me. Ivy at 4.5 is still going strong and until Zen can reach 4.3+ i'm not jumping at upgrading. But i'm assuming that will happen eventually so i'm pretty set on Zen or an iteration of Zen, plus i wanna move to 6 cores.
