Sooner or later your going to upgrade, I buy one big enough to comfortably run a up to date computer, otherwise I'd be looking for a old free or SH PSU that would run the rig.

I'm checking on newegg and came across this, it's a cooler master so it's a good brand and has a $10 main-in rebate (but I have to buy it before 7/31/12).

It says it's a 460 watter which is definitely enough for my computer, this way maybe I can add a decent videocard as well? I want to play Amnesia but I want the full graphic quality so I can scare myself. I hope my motherboard is okay with it.

I would suggest you look for something 80+Bronze certified, Corsair (TX or HX), PC P&C, Silverstone, FSP, and Enermax. I have also had good luck with the Antec Bronze models (the egg has these on sale often). Spend a little more, you won't regret it.

That's good advice, you can't beat a quality power supply, I can't see how a 30 dollar PSU would have a lot of quality or efficiency, I guess it depends on what you can afford, it's not a rig I'd put much money into anyway. Depends what your going to do in the future, if you intend to upgrade yourself or buy oem again.

The only thing I plan on doing to this machine in the future is to get a better videocard and maybe a sound card and that's about the extent of where this PC is going. I don't want to spend too much money on it.

How about this one

Or this one, although I don't need that kind of power (never going to run SLI) but the rebate seems nice.

Also what is the correct terminology for the heatsink that goes with the Northbridge/Southbirdge so I can add a bigger one?

Chipset heatsink.

I'd rather see you in this PSU.

Best bang for the buck in your budget.
I have 3 of them in various setups more powerful than your's. One of them is 4 of 5 years old. Still rock solid.

Is this a good deal for a new videocard? It fits alongside the OEM fan shroud. Kinda need an opinion today cause the deal is up in 24 hours.
