RAT9 mouse for a programmer - anyone use one?
![]() So, I'm considering one on the premise that I can probably program the buttons for common Visual studio shortcuts. Does anyone here use one? Or a predecessor? Again, I know it's a rather indulgent sort of a purchase and a bit hard for me to justify :P |

I have one, but I don't do any programming, so I'm not sure man.
You check the Saitek forums? |

Not yet.
Are the buttons simply programmable for standard shirt cut keys like ctrl+w, p and things? Do you like it, would you buy it again? |

I do like it - the dual removable batteries are a big plus in my book. One charges while you use the other.
However, this is probably more mouse than I really need as I don't even use the programmable functions. lol I do love the way it feels and it's responsiveness. I would buy again. |

The comfort that the R.A.T.7 and 9 offer are a main selling point. The fact that I can tailor my mouse specifically to my hand has made a huge difference for me.
As for program-ability of the buttons, I'm not positive, but the extra buttons you can customize using the software for the mouse. Not sure how in depth you can make the macros, I haven't messed with it too much. |
