First time with AMD and LN2 - PHII x2 555 + 990FXA-UD3 (56k warning))

I've had a couple of benching sessions with LN2 now (this would be my third) but my other two were with 775 setups, this weekend was my first play with an AMD system under LN2. Was alot of fun not having to worry about a cold bug.

PHII x2 555
990FXA-UD3
2x2GB GSkill Trident
Corsair HX750
Kayl LN2 Pot
34L LN2

Here's a couple pics of my setup:

And results:

CPU-Z

SuperPi 1M

SuperPi 32M

PiFast

wPrime 32M

wPrime 1024M

wPrime 32M with CPU unlocked to Quad

Really enjoyed it, and felt like the UD3 did really well for a budge board. Looking forward to many more fun times with AMD

Awesome results there JRecard, even more so considering this is your first time with LN2 on AMD. They sure love the cold don't they.

Nice scores, I'm sure you'll have that spi well into the 10's next time. Nice try with the four threads. Any idea what all four are stable at on milder cooling? I noticed you also have a 965 BE.. any plans of putting that under LN2?

How much CPU NB VID Control did you need for that NB speed? Lastly, how long did the 34L last?

Hope to see more soon!

Thanks for posting!

The famous Drewmeister! Thanks for taking interest

Further testing with the ram and system on air has showed me that the timings can be tightened a little for superpi runs, will run 7-7-5-18 1T, so I could have broken into 10's (just), but oh well, I know for next time.

This CPU isn't a fantastic unlocker, hence having to back down heaps when I ran wprime. On air the last I can get stable on a quad is around the 3.6 mark with 1.55v, as a dual it will do 4.3 stable with 1.55v.

And yes, I plan to put my 965 under at some point. I'm definitely upgrading to BD, so I might wait until then or just get impatient and swap it for the 555

I believe I had 1.475v on the CPU-NB for the NB speed and the 34L lasted me a good 7 hours of benching.

Was alot of fun, can't wait to come back for some more

I figured you would just need a few tweaks on the ram.. maybe some more bus speed too. Good luck with that. Btw.. very nice clocks on air as a dual.

My 965 has a weak 4th core that limits things a bit. I'll push it one more time to finish all the benchmarks. Looking forward to seeing what yours does. Hopefully all cores will cooperate.

Keep us updated!
