I wasn't really planning to do any major overclocking, TBH.

Also, the choice of boards here is insanely limited, and I was on a very tight budget. I might be upgrading to something better in the future.

Hey WD,
what do you think about adding a single core section for the old school rigs and people that are still on Penium CPUs?

Here's a comparison on the e8600 at 4.6ghz, W7 64bit versus Win XP Pro 32bit... For me Windows XP is still the best 2D OS...

Had ice form on the back of the motherboard behind the CPU after a few hours of benching...

Just thought I'd throw this up. I've been benching the computer all day anyway. Ran the 2 threads in the background cause I knew it would be a while lol.

you should set that at 4 threads. you have 2 CPU's, each with HT. try that and post back!

Tried that and I get 48 every time. The first thread finishes in 39 but they get gradually worse and it ends up making the average higher.

Thanks WD....
I was looking at other results by OCers on Cascade and was hoping for something closer to 4.8ghz benchable....
I am going to figure out if it is voltage setting related or just a worse chip batch...
Eli has a nice chip on LN2 for sure, we'll see if he is going to use LN2 for some Wprime...

did you try to drop back to a 9x multi and do the 600fsb? I had my 8600 at 5.6ghz today also. what sucks is its no good at the bot even at that speed. LN2 and over 6ghz might get a boint or 2. cascade looking good though man. nice run.

Would it run a little bit faster if I can get the extra FSB? I don't think my ram will make it that high. I can always try though!
Would you recommend some DDR2 ram that'll go well over 1066mhz for this setup?
I know, I need about 6ghz to get good boints at the bot..........

can't you back off on the ram a bit? And, seal up the back of your mobo with eraser or something to stop the condensation man before you short ur board out.
