I'm running a single Samsung 64GB 830 SSD in my current rig. This is a great drive, everything is noticeably faster including game booting, application booting and the initial boot time is almost instant.

I've got a 32 Gb 266x CF card mini-IDE in one of my Pentium III laptops. Response time for anything is great. The bandwidth seems just ok, but the battery life is way better. Total cost was about $25 and worth it for what I use it for.
I might install Chrome OS Linux on there to dual boot with Windows 2000. |

The HDD in my notebook died & I replaced it with an Intel 330 180GB. It's an older Compaq with a T7500 core2 duo, 3GB ddr2 and Vista home premium 32bit.
Going SSD is a great way to breath new life into an older machine. Boot time is great and everything just feels 'snappy'. ![]() My gamer is still running 2x 64GB SSD raid0 too.

I voted no a while back before I bought my Samsung 830. I don't think I could ever go back and that is without having tried any games on it yet.

Since DC posted this deal i'm probably going to pick one up next week assuming it's still going on.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...rkey=S203-1041 For those running SSDs.. do you run your games on them or just your OS? Which do you prefer? |
