Time will tell, but my cougar hdb fans are the shiznit. Depends on quality, I doubt evga skimped with an offer of a ten year warranty. Also my fan hardly ever runs so lifespan well be increased by that capability as well. As I said though, time will tell.

I have an evga 550 g2 psu in me nas and the fan sometimes makes an irritating squeaky sound.
I have it in always on mode, I was considering switching it to eco mode to switch the fan off but I'm not sure how that will affect the lifespan. I don't remember right now how much power it uses but it can't be too much.

I'm shopping for a psu for my next build but the fan squeak, I'm not sure I could deal with that in my gaming rig.
