Inbox subfolders notifications

I have outlook 2007 and I made some subfolders under inbox and the notifications don't work for them. I get a (1) on the subfolder but not next to inbox and it doesn't give me the little envelope notification icon on the taskbar to let me know I have an email inside the subfolder. Anyone know how to make it so inbox and all subsequent folders will show that icon if any of them get a (1) by them?

I don't believe you can. Apparantly it was in 2003 but then removed. It's how it's meant to be. I'll do some more investigating when I get a min and edit up this post if I find anything as tbf, I'd quite like it myself as would half the place I work at no doubt. It's possible you could do something with the alerts feature but that seems more geared to website based stuff.
