I would agree prior to Windows 7, but I haven't found any reason to actually wipe and reinstall Windows 7, other than if I have completely hosed my operating system.

I just find it too tedious to manually backup any files I may need, then reinstall the OS, all the software, and move the files back to where they should be.

That's actually really interesting and would be a good solution for people with SSD's without a lot of space.
