ubuntu 12.10

I've been so turned off from windows 8 that im ready to make the hard switch. I installed ubuntu 12.10 on my sons pc. an HP ML150 dual processor server that was donated to us. Much to my surprize, after a fresh install of ubuntu everything works. sound, wireless, etc. Then i installed Wine and used blizzard downloader client to install diablo 2 / starcraft broadwars and everything is working.

If i can get world of warcraft, diablo 3, starcraft 2 working then im going to switch the rest of my machines over. Its a really clean / attractive looking interface too compared to windows.

Interesting. You should use a .04 release that is the log term supported version. you should be able to update to 13.04 on the 12.10 one.

What issues are you having with Windows 8? I have Windows 8 on a 11.6 laptop, and although it's not the most intuitive, it works. But, it's not like Ubuntu is intuitive. I have Ubuntu in a Virtual Box on the laptop. Seems to work ok. I've never consider running Ubuntu as my primary gaming OS. Most games barely work on Windows.
