updating the thread, running DDR3 2400 is possible, but will not pass any stress testing even though it'll benchmark. Timings are 10-12-11-32-42 @ 1.6750v minimum 1.7000v for added stability at higher clocks. Cpu PLL makes little to no difference. From testing, Cpu temps made the biggest impact, using the chiller on and off. More voltage off, less voltage chiller on. For daily clocks I've been running DDR3 2200mhz at 1.65000v at 4ghz or more. voltage on the cpu is less than 1.3v from 4400mhz and below. Chiller temps at load are 42c all 8 threads DDR3 1100mhz and without the chiller max load temps are reading 64c on the above specs. These temps include a GTX 480 at load in the loop stressed with F@H. Without the chiller Ram runs 1200mhz effective at 1.71000v and the chiller on the voltage can be lowered to just under 1.7v for 1200mhz effective. the IMC has a big impact when it's chilled or not. WitchDoc is right on the money about that! I think for the $$ I'll stick to the Ram I have and possibly buy more of it cause it humps! Side Note: The Intel 3770K can not run my sticks at Cas 5 even at the lowest ram setting. the AMD was pushing 800mhz on Cas 5. |

idk if you checked there back in stock the 2x4GB 8GB kit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820313235 or 4x4GB 16GB kit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820313243
was talking to WD the other day didn't even know they where in stock, thinking about picking up another 8GB kit or the 16GB kit idk yet but ive ran them @2666+ depends on the IMC but most have been stable at 2600-2666 speed 10-12-12-31T1 but yeah cold helps a lot on my SS I can run 5GHz @ 1.25v ![]() and don't think you can run cas 5 on ivy |
