System Reloaded - still having display issues
Just did a fresh install of Win-7 as my 200GB SSD was getting full and the installation was 2 years old. finishing the last few downloads and windows updates now. Sadly it did not fix my screen from having a black boarder around my desktop. I'm losing about 1 inch of screen on all sides. Befor the re-install I tried a system restore and uninstalling the display drivers and graphics drivers. I now know that the problem is my display it's self as the same thing happens when in UEIF/BIOS I messed with the setting of the display and it seems im looked out of the option that I think will fix the issues. I read the manuel and the option I need is only unlocked if I the incoming signal is less then the screen native resolution. My cable is DVI - HDMI and my video card only have DVI and HDMI connectors. Any suggestions? I may buy a new monitor and give this on to the wife. a 27in will make her 19in look like [REDACTED] |

Try using DVI or VGA on your monitor instead of HDMI. The HDMI part causes this because the video card assumes HDMI is used for display on a TV and automatically underscans so no part of the picture is outside the monitor.
This can be solved in Windows by disabling underscan/overscan in the video card drivers. Also check on your monitor/TV to make sure that the settings in the OSD are set to "PC" input or "1:1" ratio, or something like that. It's different for every TV/monitor, and some don't even have that feature. |

I love you Nagoshi
CCC had 15% overscan by default, Put it at 0% and problem solved. I updated my video drivers late last month and that must be when it made the change. |
