We need full system specs, psu, gpu, etc. I would download memtest 86+ and run it for at least a couple of hours and overnight if possible. Memtest will rule out memory. what are your temps like?

The PSU is a Corsair 750w,The GPU is a Nvida Geforce GTX560Ti.
The the temp on the CPU is at idle 38-40 degres at 100% 58 degres.
I will run memtset overnight and post the result.

Do you have hibernate set up? Some boards have issues when going into or coming out of hibernate. Latest bios on the board?

Next I am going try the Asus CROSSHAIR VFORMULA 990FX..

Not trying to hard, but did you try this and play with power settings?

If it runs fine under load then usually long idle crashes are a result of fluctuating vcore.

do you leave anything running when you leave the pc. Maybe some program is steamrolling resources and locks everything up. Firefox has been known to do this. You can trying stressing your components Intel Burn Test for the CPU, Super Pi for the ram, not sure on the GPU anyone? Spin Rite is the best hard drive diagnostic/recovery/maintanence tool I know of but it's not cheap anyone got a freeware idea for hard drive checking?
