yes there is a way to legally backup ps2 OWNED games
its a software called alcohol 120%, u can download the trial at www.alcohol-soft.com |

it's a disc that you put into your console. then you take it out and put your backup in and it will play it. (no need for modchip)

Or you could always just hide the games and PS2 and tell them it broke and you sent it to Sony to get it worked on.
