Alright, this time I'm serious

I will be getting the following system in about a week or two, and am just finalizing my decisions. Let me know what you think; What I can improve on, where I can cut cost without sacrificing performance, etc. etc.

Asus SK8V
AMD Athlon FX-53
Corsair XMS Low Lat 512MB x 2 ECC Regsitered Platinum PC-3200
Antec 550W True
Hitachi SATA 160GB
Lite-on CD-RW and DVD-ROM
Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Cooler Master Praetorian
*I may get an ATI 9800PRO, but I will probably just keep my GeForce 4 Ti4600 for now*

DD TDX Silver
Maze4 GPU block
Eheim 1060
Thermochill HE120.2
Papst 55.9CFM x 2
1/2" all the way around

I'm keeping my Z-680s, diNovo Media Desktop and viewsonic monitor.

Looks good to me. But if you're not playing games, then what are you using this kickass system for?

I do play games, but I also do a lot with Photoshop CS, Flash MX, Bryce 5, etc. etc.

And as for cutting down the size of the HDD, I noticed the price doesn't differ all that much. Maybe $20, so I figure I should just go ahead and get the larger one so I won't have to replace it any time soon.

Nice setup.. but....

I would get 2 smaller "SATA" HDD's and run them in RAID 0 array, you could get 2 60gb SATA drives. I have 2 WD Raptor 10,000 RPM SATA drives on my AMD64 PC, and they rock!

I would also get a better videocard to match your system, I have a PNY 5900XT and a Gainward 5700U GDDR3 .. both these vcards rock!

Here's my systems:
PC #1
AMD64 3400+
Asus K8V Deluxe
nVidia PNY 5900XT
2x 36g WD Raptor SATA 10K (RAID 0)
Audigy2 ZS
1024mb OCZ DDR500
ADSL 1024/768
WinXP Pro 32 Bit

PC #2
AMD64 2800+
Asus K8V Deluxe
nVidia Gainward 5700U GDDR3
1 74g WD Raptor SATA 10K (getting a 2nd one soon)
SoundMAX Audio (onboard)
1536mb OCZ DDR466
ADSL 1024/768
WinXP Pro 64 Bit

I luv them both!!!
