Here is a direct link to the Stanford site:
http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/ The whole point to it is to help find cures. That gives it worth. The points and teams give it an element of competition and keep it interesting day to day. We track our team score against other teams and our personal scores against the team ladder. In case you didn't know, your faithful EOCF team is #18 in the world. You can check out the stats here: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s= If you think your OC is stable enough to run 24/7 you should join up.

I did read the stickies and watched the videos(which was pretty cool BTW) so I kinda understood the concept. Guess I just a little shocked to find so many caring people on this forum!
Well when I build my new rig I will surely consider joining the team.

The thing with fah it,s not just for people you don,t know. God forbid but sooner or later one of these diseases will affect someone around you. When you get your rig done and if you decide to set up fah just ask and someone will help you configure it if you need help. You don,t need a real powerhouse of a computer to run fah.

I always tell my parents that when they get Alzheimer's they'll forget to thank me.
Yes, it is just to save the world. There is no cash prize for being No. 1 (well, there is the give away here at EOC, but that's a different story) only the honor of knowing that you have helped millions of people around the world, not to mention, God forbid, your own family. Go ahead and join up! Whether one rig or one hundred, every little bit helps. |
