RAM recommendation

I am in the process of upgrading right now.

I am running the following (not great I know):

P4 1.7GHz Willamette (socket 478) on some generic mobo (i850e)
256mb PC800 RDRAM (sucks)
Radeon 9500 pro
Thermaltake purepower 480W PSU
etc..

I am keeping processor (no money for upgrade on that)
Upgrading mobo to Asus P4P800E-deluxe (i865PE+ICH5R controller for SATA/RAID)
Will be adding some IDE or SATA drives in RAID0 later

Now if my budget for memory is $200 (absolute MAX), what is the best (184 pin DDR) ram I can get? I do not intend to overclock but may just consider trying it sometime.

Forgive my rather general/arbitrary question. I want your personal preferences.

I dont think theres much point in upgrading CPU unless I get like a 3GHz or greater and this costs a lot. In any case I'm not sure I need an upgrade in that dept. more urgently than other upgrades (like ram & hdd).
Its not going to happen for the next 6-8 months (unless a mad impulse makes me do it).
