Finally ordered SLK-948u

So I did, I couldn't do it earlier because the only company in this s**thole called Holland that supplies the things was closed, because the two owners were on a holiday :S Anyway, I ordered that, plus some AS5, a Tornado, and a Sunbeam Rheobus... Gonna see a nice temp drop (finally)

So then I'll finally dare give it some more Vcore and get some higher OC's I didn't go for the XP-120 cuz (IMO) its too big, and its (mainly) Aluminium. I just have more faith in the good old Copper...

Just thought I'd let you lot know Only thing outta the way of a real nice system now is my crappy KHX

*note, its Holland*

€55 for the SLK, €5 for the AS5, €20 for the tornado and I don't exactly know how much for the Rheobus, but you get the idea, stuff's pricey here

i have faith in you XT-Chace with your knowledge you will get there. Also about the xp-120 even though its ginormous the idea is to have a 120mm fan on it to push alot more air and less noise and also since its aluminium its very light so thats a plus and since its so big and well designed it cools really well. i might just have to get one and that DFI board...

Well, I've got the Tornado and the Rheobus now (**** this is fun, put the Tornado on the floor on its side, then floor the Rheobus... That thing rockets itself away, it nearly lifts off when you put it facing the ground ) But I'm still waiting for the SLK, should be here next week at least...

I know 120's will also cool well and more quiet than a Tornado, but its the idea (+ I just want a Cu heatsink), I wan't people to be able to hear I'm well cooled, should tell them not to OC without good cooling (another lesson learned)

"Edit"/profi bump:
Ok, got the Tornado and AS5 and its all up and going, Idle temps dropped to 30* and load is 50 at (effectively) 1.80Vcore. Gave a quick shot at 2700Mhz and I got to 2680Mhz with considerable ease, I'll go for higher later, here's the Sandra it got me to:

Why not try now? I'm using KHXPC3200 divided 5:4 I'll try further later, but I'll let the AS5 work in first...

Edit: Got a shot at 2703Mhz, w00t, nearly passed 12.5k

If you have the Newcastle 3200 you can get it no sweat, on stock Vcore/cooling for the 3000+ you'll need some additional Vcore, and for Clawhammers goes the same...

I'd say do your own test against the retail 'sink, if you have one:

Hm, well I never really tested on temps on the stock cooler, and I don't feel like switching it tbh... My temps on 2.64Ghz don't exceed 48* on the SLK though...

But an idle temp of 42 and load of 61 on the SLK that guy's getting isn't right, no way...
