PC P&C 510
OCZ PowerStream 520W
Enermax 535W
Fortron/Sparkle 550W EPS
Antec TP II 550W EPS

That new TT 500W that was just added to the guide fits the bill also & is modular. (exact model only!)

The new Antec Neo HE 500W or 550W would be perfect & they are modular,
but no one has reviewed them yet.

Good Luck,
Dave

Off the top of my head:

The Silverstone Strider ST60F 600W

The Ultra X-Connect X2 550W

Both power supplies hace combined 12V rails of >= 34A and both have a modular 8-pin EPS connector. Both also did very well on the load tester. I'd have the **** reviews up if I wasn't travelling for work so **** much.

I was going to ask when these got reviewed,
because the last thing I saw at SLCenteral was a water cooler!

So a Ultra X-2 passed! How about noise & ripple?

I'm looking forward to reading your reviews.

Yeah. I had to get that review done and posted before the **** cat pee'd on it again.

Yeah. It did REALLY WELL in fact. Makes me really want to retract almost of all of the good things I said about the Youngyear unit I review almost a year ago. Then again, the more power supplies I get and the more I use the tester the more I learn. The X2 actually did better than the ePower Modular I'm reviewing in the same review (it's going to be a 3-way modular shoot-out)

Yeah... Unfortunately I have to fly up to Baltimore on Monday. Some dummy installed a PBX and didn't do anything more than preliminary programming so they're paying me to re-program it for the customer. Pays the bills....

And TK2K: I can understand about the Ultra biased. First they have power supplies blow up in reviews and then their affiliation with TigerDirect.... THAT sure as hell doesn't help them any. It's going to take a miracle for them to re-establish any kind of rep. It's like, I know people that won't buy an OCZ because of that whole thing that happened four or five years ago... I don't even think the company is under the same OWNERSHIP as back then, but whatever. It's like when VW played restitution to the Jews 50 years after WWII. The company was rebuilt by the Brits and US after the war and has been owned by the workers since after Germany re-established it's own government, but yet they're asked to pay for the pain and suffering the Jews under went in VW factories PRIOR to the war.

The world is a funny place.

I'm going to say the Silverstone. Its the same as the 650W PSU they have, but with modular cables. The four rails isolates the different loads of a PC very well. It's also very quiet.

Dave is funny in situations like this. Fortunately, I think we both agree to disagree quite often.

I respect his opinion, but personally I fail to see how the Antec is "proven." They just came out last week and nobody has reviewed them. Certainly neither me, Dave or Jason have had their hands on one yet. If anything, the Silverstone IS proven. It's been out for a while as the 650W unit. They didn't lower the rails of this model to make it a 600W. They took in consideration the voltage drop at high loads that ALL modular power supplies exhibit and simply lowered the total recommended max wattage.

Since your "unpublished" review is "I guess" the first review of the new Silverstone modular,
I must respond that the "Antec" is the "proven PSU" based on long years of reputation alone.

I do look forward to reading your review of the new Silverstone.

LOL! Fair enough. Although, I do think that Silverstone has been around long enough and the fact that all of their "low end" PSU's are made by Enhance and their high end units (the quad-rails) are made by Etasis is proof positive emough... but we could go 'round and 'round for ever.

I'll back down, but.....

Please don't forget that the new Antec's can not be judged by prior NeoPower performance alone. If you have a power supply with higher efficiency, you're literally switching out half of the components in the power supply from the less efficient model. And given the fact that the new HE's are not made in the CWT factory that the old NeoPower was made, but rather the NINGBO ISO Electronic Co., a Chinese cousin of Channelwell the verdict is still out until I get my hands on one.

Ok, both psu's look quite good, i would be happy with ether
Which one do you guys WANT me to buy, cuz if you give me some tests to run, i can 'review' it for you, i highly doubt it would 'suck' and will be better then my neopower 480 anyway.
However, i cannot find anywhere selling the antec psu...

Alright guys, i am giving you 4 more hours, then i am ordering one

Hey im going to get this vid card http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...e=pricegrabber. It says a 400w psu is recommended however, I used the extreme ps calc and it says im going to need 245w PS. Currently I have a 200w psu the came with my computer so regardless I need a new psu. I looked over the best bang for the buck section but I still don’t know what to get. This is what I have Pentium 4 2530mhz Northwood x2 ddr sdram 80gb 7200rpm hdd dvd/cdrw combo drive cd-rom drive.
