IE has been hijacked...

My IE has been hijacked, pretty bad. Everytime I remove spyware through spy sweeper or spyware S&D, they come back right away. I have come to the realization that something must be re-installing them right after I remove them.. Any ideas ????

Try running HiJack This and post the log here. Someone will be able to give you some insight on what to do after that.

Complete guide to adware/spyware removal and prevention

Complete Guide for Ad-ware/Spy-ware removal and prevention.

This guide is a collective work of Schadenfroth from AT, and some other guys, I'm just a messenger. This is by far the most extensive guide concerning Ad-ware/Spy-ware removal and prevention you'll find. Include links to free antivirus, and other software.

And stop using IE. Download firefox right after cleaning. Use ad-aware like stated. Great software.

Are you implying that if you get hit with HIJACK... theres no known program to remove it? You have to run "hijack this" program to post a log and then remove everything out of the ordinary manually? thats blows!

No, you can absolutely dig in the registry and remove the unnecessary keys, and clear out any spy/adware, BHOs and the likes; but, that's another class.

Spybot has "resident agents" to prevent this , turn them on.

I use IE 99% of the time & have NEVER been hijacked!

What firewall, besides XP's, are you running?

There's no point in running multiple firewalls. This can and will conflicts. One good firewall (like the free ZoneAlarm) will protect you more than a dozen crappy firewalls (anything you have to pay for) running at the same time.

Run AdAware, SpyBot S&D and HiJack This. If nothing can't get fixed, format , re-install and stop looking at pr0n.

Who suggest multipul firewalls?

You should have the XP firewall enabled & a good software firewall such as Sygate or Zone Alarm.

The free versions are good, but the paid versions are better.

Ad Spywareblaster, as recommended by Spybot to your list & a good anti-virus, keep them up to date & have their functions activated & all should be well.

Good Luck,
Dave

I run windows firewall and nothing else, its plenty for me, no viruses no worms or trojans... but I guess the reason for that is I dont ignorantly click yes to everything that opens....

Get rid of internet explorer get firefox www.getfirefox.com

If you use outlook express... don't download thunderbird www.mozilla.org

If you want me to help you clean your system send me a pm and I will gve you my aim name and we can go from there
