n0oB needs help with flashing bios

I have a abit nf7-s V2 that I am wanting to change the bios on to see if it will improve my fsb speeds. I have never done it with the exception of using a asus bios update utility for my other board. If any of you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it is NF7-S v2 and not NF7-S2 ? If yes go here:
http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/bi...es=1&model=124

And download any BIOS that you want. I think the latest one is the 27.
http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/do...2.0/nf7d27.exe

Create a Windows-XP boot disk and copy the content of the downloaded *.exe file onto the disk. The boot from the floppy and run "runme.bat" file on the floppy disk.

Also read the *.txt file that comes with the download.

You can also use the Abit flash menu to do it from windows, but it is generally not recomended.

To create a bootable floppy in Windows XP do this:

1. Insert a floppy disk into your drive. Make sure it doesn't contain any data that you need, because you are going to loose all that.
2. Click on My Computer
3. Right click on your floppy disk drive
3. Select "Format" from the pop-up menu
4. Check "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" checkbox
5. Click "Start" button

Copy the unzipped files from the downloaded *.exe file onto the disk, and boot from the floppy disk. When you get the prompt type "runme.bat".

Don't restart, turn off, or do anything else with the PC until it finishes flashing. Follow onscreen instructions.
