Exclamation Help, ram not running at ddr400.

First off for specs:
Ak89 Max (newest bios)
64 3700
PDP Xbl pc-3200
Antec 400w Psu

My mobo ram speed is only ddr333 and down. I have ram that suppose to run at 400, but my mobo is setting it down to 333. Ive tried auto settings which still runs it at 333. My mobo knows its ddr 400, because when it in post It will show ram speed, voltages, etc. It will state:
Ram speed DDR 400 / 333.
Ive read the manual and the speed highlighted is the speed the ram is currently running.
This is really making me mad, because all of aopens bios make the speed ddr 333. And the old ones dont give me the option of making the timings whatever I want.

Is there an Auto option for the memory? In some BIOS, they don't list DDR400 and Auto is the 1:1 setting.

Also, what slots are your memory in. I noticed when I put my memory in slots 2 & 3 on my VNF3-250 memory would run at a 1:2 ratio. Try different slots and see if that'll let you run 1:1.

Got it working, I had to use a older bios. Bios 1.07 and up, made ddr 400 in 2 slots run 333 instead of 400. I pm'd john_spit010, he helped me out a lot. Got me on the right track. And thanks for the help as well who posted.
