Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
Detonator you need an rma. Those rails are just too low for the xconnect. Out of curiosity are all those things plugged into 1 modular cable?

If I RMA it, I'll be getting an OCZ instead. This is the second one I've had that has those exact same readings. The only open ports on the back of the PSU are 2 4-pins and the AUX, so no, they are on seperate cables. The most I have plugged into one cable is 1 80mm fan, floppy drive, and the DVD-ROM. Oh, I also did what you said and plugged only the mobo, 4pin intel, and one 4pin molex (to test with) and was reading around 12.30v...too bad I'm not getting that reading with everything connected. I'm about to plug the a/c line into it's own seperate wall plug just to test it out (can't hurt, right?). If that doesn't work, I'm gonna change the order that they are plugged into the PSU and see if that makes a difference. Finally, if that doesn't work, I'm gonna say **** it and get an OCZ (which is better, the powerstream, or modstream?).

Edit: I just noticed the PowerStream has adjustable rails...if I can find a 520w one for a decent price, that's the way I'm gonna go.

Those readings are horrible! WTF? Has Ultra changed the manufacturer? TigerDirect get a bad lot?

RMA for a PowerStream, they are way better than ModStreams & have a 5yr warranty.

Well, I'm gonna be ordering the PowerStream 520w on Thursday (income tax return) along with some other stuff from newegg. I actually found it for 15 bucks cheaper elsewhere, but I may as well order it from newegg since I'm ordering a load of stuff from there anyway and will be getting it 2nd day shipped. This is the rig I'm gonna have after the purchase:

Abit NF7-S v2 (Currently running Manta Rays XT bios) (Already have)
Athlon XP-M 2400+ 45w (Already have)
Patriot 3200 XBL (512x2)
Thermalright SI-97 w/92mm Tornado
Thermalright NB-1c
HIS ATI Radeon 9800pro flashed to XT (Already have)
OCZ PowerStream 520w
74gig Raptor
60gig IBM Deskstar 7200rpm (Already have)
48x24x48 TDK CD-RW (Already have)
16x NEC DVD+/-RW

If you see anything that could be a little better let me know. Next chance I get I'm gonna get a new case and better case fans.

Sorry to bring up an old thread...but I just recently got the OCZ PowerStream 520w and took the readings...almost exactly the same as the two Ultras that I got...so then I'm like WTF! Well, then I go to home depot and buy another multimeter...now I'm reading 12.2 and 5.15. Turns out those X-Connects were actually putting out the right voltage! I think I posted a link to the multimeter I used in the beginning....STAY AWAY FROM IT! It's off by almost a whole volt!

Edit: BTW...I now have everything that I posted in my last post minus the Patriot memory and the northbridge cooler (gotta wait till next check).

I think they must've switched manufacturers or something...David and others say it's a good PSU but I posted in another thread of MaximumPC magazine doing a 10 PSU shootout and they only rated it 4/10 partly due to EXACTLY what you're describing in your mm readings. They said the rail stability was bad and it also failed a couple other severe stress tests. Unfortunately they don't publish their articles online or I'd link ya.

So they must've changed something...
