Thermaltake PurePower & Gatewatch {HELP}
The Power Supply has two wires, which I guess is for speed monitoring(One is a 2pin - and the other is a 3pin). As you can see the Thermaltake fan controler requires a 2pin, as seen below. So I connected the Power Supplies 2pin header to the controlers 2pin, and I could change the fan speeds fine. Gatewatch - More This has loads of 3pin connectors, as seen below So I had to connect the Power Supplies other 3pin connector to the Gatewatch connectors. When turning it on, it displays the fan speeds RPM, but doesn't allow me to change it. The dual fans are now running at 3900RPM+ which is rather loud. Is there anyway around this? Im I doing something wrong? Oh, and I can't use both fan controlers as the gatewatch requires 2bays, and I wouldn't have enough space for both of them. Thanks GODDEH |

I looked up these instructions on the website:
http://www.aerocool.us/peripheral/ga...r%20manual.htm The pictures are a little tough to see but it looks like you should plug the molex 4 pin into your power supply, not the 3 pin connector. The pictures show the 3 pin connectors being hooked to the fans. |

No, I have the molex connected. The molex powers the LCD display & the other fans.
Why? Why what? ~_~ |

Do you have the three pin connectors run to your fans?

Most of my fans have 3pin connectors and plug into the gatewatch. Is there no way I can plug a 2pin into a 3pin? using a converter maybe?
I was on a budget for my power supply, and yes I know the psu's are rather important. But this one is fine, and I like being in control of fan speeds. ~edit~ The psu cost me £45 which is a good deal in my opinion, as it retails at £60 |

Did you look at the link I gave you.
http://aerocool.us/peripheral/gatewa...r%20manual.htm It mentions fans that have built in speed control and needing a jumper. It is at the bottom of the page. In the middle of the page it tells you how to go from auto mode to manual mode. It also looks as if you need to use the included thermal sensors for auto mode. The 3rd wire on the 3-pin connector sends the signal to the controller telling it what rpm the fan is running at. BTW, You said you were on a budget. How much was the fan controller? Yes, any jumper that bridges the two pins will work. Alligator clip for that matter will work.

I put the jumper in the 3pin connector, and tried to put the 2pin in, but it doesnt go in... even with some force. Maybe aerocool are refering to a different type of jumper?
