Multiple ipods with itunes
I sold my old 5gb generation 1 ipod that came with musicmatch so itunes is new to me. The problem i see is that whenever you plug in you ipod itunes automatically updates it to whatever is in your playlist, etc. I dont want the same songs on my ipod that are in his library but i also dont want to delete his library. I cant seem to find anywhere to save his lists of music, is there a way? And if i clear out his library and plug his ipod in wont it clear all the songs from his ipod? Is there a way to get musicmatch to detected a 6b ipod mini? If anyone might be able to help I would appreciate it.

DO NOT CLEAR HIS LIBRARY YET!
Plug the iPod into the PC and let iTunes detect it. It will update the iPod with the songs on iTunes. After that's done, click the iPod OPTIONS tab on the lower right hand of the program or you can go: EDIT > PREFERENCES > IPOD TAB at top Basically, either way you get there, just UNCHECK "auto update iTunes to iPod" or something like that. That way, when you clear out iTunes you can still plug in the iPod and it won't erase the iPod. Does that help? |
