Quad Rails with a total of 42a and Nvidia Certified, impressive. They mess up their specs though the table adds up to 55a but below they state all 4 rails to be 42a. Here's the link to it if anyone's lazy http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-65zf.htm

As these are not on either the "recommended" list or the "avoid at all cost" list,
it will be interesting to see how they perform over time.

These are my recommendations for SLI: http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...&postcount=234

Personally I wouldn't consider anything other than PC P&C or OCZ for a real highend SLI system.

Actually only PC P&C has their "Official" blessing right now.

Dave, the Nvidia website has added the Silverstone ST65ZF to their list of Certified Power Supplies. They're up to 3

I see where they say it, but I can not find a link where Nvidia says it.

http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-65zf.htm

Does anyone have a link to where Nvidia certifies this PS for SLI?

EDIT:

I found this & I am adding the Silverstone ST65ZF to the Recommended list as a Premium Choice.

http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_sl...rsupplies.html

Thanks guys,
Dave

EDIT 2:

The recommendation carries this warning:

Recommended for SLI systems ONLY, not recommended for non-SLI systems.

EDIT 3:

THIS PS IS NOT RECOMMENDED DUE TO THE CROSS-LOADING PROBLEMS!

I think we are seeing the first PSU with a "combined 12v rail" spec, just like the combined +5 and +3.3 rail spec. If that's the case I say it's about time.

After reading the specs I would be concerned about recommending this PSU until the crossload characteristics are fully tested and published. Unless it is in a computer with the appropriate power consumption profile it could cause some problems. Unlike an OCZ, Enermax or Antec this unit can bottom out at times.

I agree the the crossloading requirements are unique, but they are acceptable for an SLI system,
given that you could not build an SLI system with meeting them.

IMO, this PS can be recommended for SLI systems, but ONLY for SLI systems.

The recommendation carries this warning:
Recommended for SLI systems ONLY, not recommended for non-SLI systems.

Without digging out all of the details, this PS has the most complex cross loading requirments that I have ever seen &
it may not power some low demand systems as they wouldn't offer enough loading on the various rails.

Of course I will revise this as more of these become available & we see just how they perform in different configurations.

This unit looks like my pick to power my SLI rig. I was going to go with a PC Power & Cooling but I did not want to go with another 510 and the 850 is so friggin expensive.

AFAIK PC P&C doesn't make a 600W'er. OCZ does.

PC P&C goes from 510W to 850W.
