Shut down problems
2500+ barton NOT-o'clocked shuttle AN35Ultra Mobo 512 MB Viking Value ram Fresh install of Win XP Pro SP2 Crappy $30 Powmax Case with 400W PS 80 GB WD HD SE When I start the "shut down" process, operating system shuts down and shows blank/black screen but my MOBO never shuts down You know how there is a delay of 1~2 seconds for all hardware to completely shut down after operating system shuts down but hardware refuses to shut down at all.... I can hear HD still running, my system fans are still running but OS is definitely off. What am doing wrong? That processor and Mobo are recycled parts from my old computer and never gave me problem such as that. I thought it was case with shi$$y PS but it is not since I have built another computer with same case and PS for my little sister (sempron 2300+) and works perfectly. Ahhhh. I am about to pull my hair out. Please help !!!

then if that doesn't work go to http://aumha.org/win5/a/shutcut.htm - there is alot of usefull info there and a shutdown utlitly is also mentioned (supposed to actually work in powering down the PC after windows has finished shutting down)... hope that works - if not then post back and update me in what happened |
