drawer or keyboard tray

ok i seem to have a problem.. today i figured.. "hey we dont use this drawer that sits right below this keyboard, why dont i remove it and buy a keyboard tray!" .. seems more logical.. because we have absolutely no room for the keyboard anyways... my dad comes into the room.. yells so much.. tells me to put back all the wood, and is threatening me.. tells me that the drawer is worth 100 bucks, and hes like "NOOOOO you cant " now put it back (its custom made.. and my mom agrees that it was a mistake to put it there! umm i cant put it back now, cause for one thing, im not good @ putting things together, better @ taking em apart lol..

so im going to hide the drawer under my bed and keep quiet.. he'll never find out.. then im going to buy a keyboard tray and put it on there.. only problem, is that he "may" remember that there was a drawer there.. hmmm..

anyways.. should i buy one from Bestbuy or CompUSA ?

That is a really bad idea!

This table is important to your father & is custome made, he REALLY wants it the way it was.

Make an old fart happy & put it back, I'm sure that other arrangements can be made.

I don't understand what's so hard about putting it back, it's just a drawer. Even if you did take out the rails/mounting trim for it, just screw 'em back in. If you had enough mechanical knowledge of a screwdriver to take it apart, put the **** thing back together.

Unless you broke some pieces.........

edit, how would he never find out you didn't put it back? Every time he'd walk by, he'd see it wasn't there. I hope to God my kids never think I'm that dumb, but I'm sure that time will come....

Yea i'd do as your dad says I wouldn't get my parents mad considering how they are helping to pay for my college and car and computer and all that stuff sometimes i do admit that i am underappreciative. Besides if you're 17 ur prolly going to college soon anyway living in a dorm where you can anything you want. Unless you are going to stay at home and commute, or not go to college at all...then that would suck
Bestbuy compusa (at least the one near me) is always overpriced

that mod would of probably went better for you if you already bought the kb/tray and installed it before they noticed the drawer being gone(now theres just a empty spot that will remind your folks to bust ya chops until you replace w/drawer or hopefully update w/kb tray)

like AMDGUY said if you can take it apart/put it back together,if you can,t put it back together, enjoy the learning your going to get by just doing it.

GOODLUCK!

if your really stuck not being able to put it together post a pic and we,ll walk ya through it.
