What should I get?

The last 3 MP3 players that I have had have been broken someway or another. The 1st one was a cheapo 128mb one, the on/off button stopped working
The 2nd one was another cheapo 256mb, the screen became black and blurry
The 3rd one was a Rio Carbon 5gig, It worked for about 5 months, and then about 2 weeks ago the volume control on it became busted...

So now I want a MP3 player, that won't break, is relatively small(size wise) and can store 5 gigs or more...I thought that maybe I should take one more chance with the rio carbon, and get the new 6gig...and a good pair of headphones(probably Koss KSC75's).

I'm not sure if I want an iPod, I hate all the dumb@sses at my school who think you have to have an apple to have an iPod...lol. They also think that an iPod isn't an MP3 player, they think its some majestical mini computer from apple...when its just an MP3 player like the rest...I think I might just get an iPod to prove them wrong!

i think the majority of the people have ipods as a fashion statement above function.

Creative Nomad products are excellent alternatives. Then there's a bunch of those random Korean makers who i don't really trust at all.

My 40 gig Creative Nomad works fine. Only problems are size and battery life. You have to weigh that against the price of an Ipod. I personally didnt think it was worth $200 more.

Get the Gmini400, you'll love it! I personally own one and it's the best thing that i've bought so far. It holds 20 gigz of stuff, plays movies, records voices, picture slideshows, plays like any format of music, and there are rumors out there that people have installed LINUX on them aswell.. I simple love it. Fits in my back pocket easily.

You can't even compare an ipod to the archos series of players, its like no compatition for the archos.

hmmm...I think that maybe I should just get the new 6 gig iPod mini and the koss ksc75 headphones...

And rio's aren't always that bad, plus my dad gets me the 2 year extended warranty at bestbuy every time...so every two years if my MP3 player doesn't break...I break it myself...and get somethin' new...lol

BUT I Seriously hate best buy...

The Iaudio is a great bit of technology. I tis really nifty. And the video playback comes in handy especially when on long car rides or on trips.
