My custom box...
Built from scratch. Parts were purchased from Performance-PC, Petra's, Jab Tech, Mountain MOD, and Lowe's. The basic dimensions are 14Wx24Dx24H, made to fit under my desk and to hold everything inside.
The case starts with an 1" aluminum angle frame riveted together. The skin is 5/16 tempered masonite with a double layered lining of sound deadening material. All cables and wiring are sleeved and modified to be the correct length. Primary PSU Enermax Galaxy 850w powers the mobo, video cards, HD's, optical and floppy drives. Secondary PSU Enermax Liberty 500w powers the 11 120mm fans via 2 controller panels and 2 Swiftech MCP655 pumps. (Facilitates bleeding the system) The water cooling system has 2 loops: Loop1: CPU & NB, Dtek Fuzion, Swiftech MCW30, Swiftech MCP655, Thermochill PA120.3, 120x38mm Delta 1212SHE x3, Tygon 1/2", DD fill port. Loop2: eVGA 8800GTX x2 (SLI), MCW60 x2, Swiftech MCP655, Swiftech MCR220, 20x38mm Delta 1212SHE x2, Tygon 1/2", DD fill port. Temps idle/load (24/7 use) CPU 31/43(TAT) NB 29/35 GPU's 40/49(several hrs gaming) Max OC on this CPU for bench only was 3.6 9x400 1.45v GPU's 655/1055 (16,280 3dmark 06) 24/7 OC, 3.2 8x400 @ 1.38v and 600/950 (avg 14,100 3dmark06) Future additions (wish list), a pair of Raptors or Cheetahs and a QX6700 I intend to give the box a much nicer paint job when my friend returns from Iraq. (He has all the right equipment). Please feel free to comment on potential improvements.... Lee Haag |

My main rig:
-A64 3200+ Venice (2.5Ghz @ 1.5V) -Abit AN8 SLi 939 -2x Patriot 1Gb -EVGA 7900GS (620 / 1800) -OCZ Gamestream 600w -Pioneer DVDRW drive (Ide) -WD 200Gb IDE -CM Stacker RC-810 Mods: -Added plexiglass to side panel, Bottom grill. (To reduce sound and dust) -Made custom front fan mont (Fits 3 120mm) -Removed Leds from OCZ Power Supply, Case Fans. Plans (In Order): -Sleeve all cables with UV Blue \ Green, Organize cables. -Replace molex connectors with UV reactive replacements. -Add 4 UV lamps, LED's too. -Replace Hard drive with Sata2 drive, Maybe 2x for a raid. -Replace Dvd drive with Sata2 format. THEN.... -New Motherboard, CPU, Memory (All at once) -New Video card 2 months later (8800 Series or similar performance at the time) This case was purchased (Along withe the PSU) to prepare for an eventual new build (C2D). I wanted to replace as much as possible before the $1500 or so I will spend on Mobo/CPU/Mem/GPU. I also plan to make it look as sexy as possible in the meantime. I may buy or make a new side panel with a window, But it will be tinted, So as to prevent it from becoming an expensive lamp. Also, Another goal is silence. My next hard drives will be spinpoints, And I will buy\make custom enclosures designed for maximum sound dampening. At the moment, The loudest components are the HD and GPU (GPU fan is only loud under full load). I would estimate the system's volume at around 25dB. My desk setup: 2x Dell 17" Ultrasharps. (Hopefully i will get ceiling mounts for them, SO they will hang under the shelf in the picture) Generic media keyboard (May replace with Logitech DiNova) Logitech G7 (<3) Altec Lansing 4.1 Speakers with Sub. Will be replaced with Logitech 5.1 set. The new Mobo/CPU/Mem/GPU will be the LAST upgrade i do, I want to create a very nice enviorment and peripheral collection before I upgrade the hardware. If needed, I will just get a Dual core 939 CPU to survive in the meantime. Enough talk... The Pictures: |

My Stacker - Modded for Cable organization, Interior Painted.
Previous Post (With Pictures):

Other Additions: Zalman Video Card Cooler. Not the Best, But Silent and it keeps GPU under 48C Replaced the stock OCZ PSU Fan with a Scythe Silent Fan. It's literally Silent. Sleeved all visible cables, And most hidden ones too. Added 4 UV CC lights to give the sleeving a nice effect. Added 2x 40mm Scythe fans to the OTES HS, They are virtually silent @ 12v, And keep my NB temps below 38C. Added an aluminum rail parallel to the motherboard, Its there to Zip cables to and keep them at bay. Notes: The Window and Bottom grill have Plexiglass in them to keep dust and Noise to a minimum. All case fans are running on 5 Volts. So is the CPU and GPU Fans. |
