I think there talking about MRP. So I believe the prices will also go down on newegg..

The 7800GT isn't being released at $499, no one would buy it. MSRP will be set at $449 and within a week you will see them at $400-$420.

If you can afford to spend $400 on a video card, you could afford to extra $100 to get top of the line.
