1 Sony DRU 510A DVDRW/CDRW
1 NEC 3520A DVDRW/CDRW 1 TDK CDRW 102448 1 SAMSUNG DVDROM/CDRW Combo Drive. The NEC is the best out of them all IMHO. I use my DVD burner all the time with Norton Ghost and Back files from my file server. I also have a large music collection (mainly trance and techno) that I have been getting for free because of promoltionals from artist themselves. I back up my personal movies all th time too. I have taken all three matrix movies and put them on one disc just to make it easy on my CD Wallet. I put the originals back in their box for safe keeping. In regards to anime: Since most of it is outside the US it is hard to say. Fact is they could pursue it if they desired but they do not. It is almost impossible to get newer anime here with having to download a fansub. I tried importing but I cannot speak nor read japanese and the import tax and shipping was pushing the price upwards of a 100 bucks for 5 DVDs that I couldn't run in my DVD player due to region codes I would be more than happy to pay for it if I could get it

TDK Velocd 52x cd burner
NEC ND2510A NEC 3510A NEC 3520B NEC 3520A Thats all I can remember, Oh wait and a Phillips 4x cd burner external PCMCIA I bought back in 2000. I think thats it... I'm always burning legit copies of stuff, and burning data on dvd's. A lot easier for backups and so forth. Cant remember the last time I burned a regular cd. I will tonight, though! Driver cd for my Father-in-laws computer I frankensteined for him. |

I have a CD burner and a DVD-ROM but I never use them. Harddisk space is cheaper and faster then decent CD-R's...

Why me
Senior Member

LG DVD 16x+, -, DL , RAM (never have gotten around to buying any RAM disks for my server)
Lite-on 52x CD-R CD burner has seen much more use than the DVD since I got the DVD. I have made home movies with it, alomst have to have it now that I have a kid. Have used it to back up a HDD or two. Traveling all the time and taking my movies along with me, and killing a couple, I tried to get backups to carry and have yet to get more than one or two and with a life of about two trips it can get a little expensive. |

Plextor 716SA here, only had it for a week and i've done a few CD's/DVD's. I really need a good burner for my work though (editing) which is why i splashed out on it.

Don't ask why unless you want to join them. |
$50 for a 80 gb hard drive is better for backing up important stuff than DVD-R/RW/+R/+RW/RAM and all the other **** formats.
Only thing a dvd-burner is seriously useful for is pirating movies and games. And the few rare people who have to burn loarge amounts of data for other people on a regular basis, probably some strange job. |

Didn't vote because I have both a DVD/CD and CD burner actually. A flashed
NEC 3520a and a Plexwriter, respectively. Just worked out that way. |
