Sony 720A and a Pioneer 107, used for there Re-writing capacity, rather than burning, mostly burn cd's wth them rather than Dvd's, use DVD+RW's for backing up, both units have there faults, Sony's DL, haven't been able to DL re-writables, actually bought a linux magazine today and the DVD was dual sided and each side was bootable, one side had debian 3.1 and the other side had Fedora Core 4 on it. First time I've seen a doublesided dvd disk.

Dont know what I'd do without my DVD burner when I have to reformat. I can put everything I need to back up on a few DVD's, instead of pulling some old crap hard drive out of the spare parts bin and having to mess with IDE cables. Use a cheap $30 Samsung oem 16x/48x from microcenter. I had a $70 LG that was POS and always failing on burn, but these oem cheapies rock. All my friends use them and have seen one fail, but it was after an extended burning spree (all the guy did was procure files from newsbin and burn them day and nite).
