Good question, I wondered that myself. Instincively, to my head you should only need 24bits to represent the colour after all the transparencies are figured out by the GPU with fancy schmancy algorithms. What gives?

The difference is quite noticable. In games running 24bit color, things like smoke look purplish and pink and blotchy. when you go to 32 bit color they look noticably more grey. |

Umm, shouldn't 1600*900 be in here? It's a 1.7777777777777777777777777777778 (super wide screen) Ratio.
