Observing something odd here right now...

Whats the chance that somneone would pull at lease 33 (Probobly more like 150) 450 Point Work units ina row?

for a while, maybe 3-4months, all i got were 600 pointers

My 3.0E rig has been getting nothing but 450 and 600 pointers since I configured it with the right flags. I'm pretty sure an HT Intel rig will only get the big ones with the proper flags.

Once you get on a server you can stay there for a while, Sometime's when the server get overloaded, then it will switch you.

when i was folding a few months back, all i got were 249 pointers. like 200 of them.

checking EMIII, ive gotten 67 P1912's, 65 P1911's, and 30 1910's...pretty much all in a row, AND thats NOT counting the ones from the 2.4C (for some reason, EMIII doesnt track on that comp)

all of those are 450pt QMD's btw

so thats a minimum of 162 in a row

figure the 2.4C put up another 25% and that puts me over 200 units

just a single p4 3.4GHz, and a p3 500MHz if i am really desperate for 20ppd. But i'm runnin the graphical thing instead of the text becuas i never could get the text one to save points midway, so if i wanted to play a game i'd have to wait for it to finish or start from new for some reason.

You can just set the console version to idle priority (during first config), and it takes a back seat to anything else that uses the CPU... so if your game is using 80%, it will only fold with the remaining 20%. Basically it turns whatever would be idling into folding.

enjoidvssk8er, that rig could easily put out 450ppd if it is set up right. (assuming it folds 24/7). You really should try the console version...and use "TrayIT" to minimize it to the system tray and get it out of your way. Also, set it to idle priority like mentioned.

1. Install Console version....
2. Create shortcut and add flags: -verbosity 9 -advmethods -forceasm -local
3. Click it and configure it like usual except set it to idle priority
4. Allow it to recieve WU over 5MB
5. And here is the part that I do that no-one else agrees with: set it for yes to get time-less WU's.
6, Finish configuring and let it get a WU...should be a 450 point QMD, and that rig should easily finish one per day.

Side Note: about the time-less thing....most people dont agree, but setting it like that (with the other apropriate flags) seems to ensure all my rigs get is QMD's. I have tried the above set-up on: 3.5P4, 1.8 P4, 2.5 P4, and 2.7 Cely all off them get QMD's non-stop. (except the 2.5 P4 which only folded one protien for me...but should be added back soon.

i,m running the console+idle (rig in sig)and i play the doom3 demo wihout a hitch w/F@Hrunning..

enjoidvssk8er just switch to idle and play all you want(the only prob i have is i don,t want to shutoff the comp in fear of the wu not picking up where it left off)but 24/7 is better for me-n-stanford,lol!!

Hey Impaqt, I have received a lot more thant 33, the only reason my count looks like I haven't is because when I was first setting up some new ram I had it unstable and I was at work and it kept starting over and over, sending early finished workunits back. I have pulled hundreds of them in a row.

My Intel RIg is working on 2 600 pointers righ tnow... Once those are done I'll try resetting with these flags and see whathappens.....

MY main rig is only getting very small ones lately... right now it's doing a 46 pointer at 5 minutes per frame. Last one was an 86 pointer. Before was a 133 pointer. What flags do I use (single core AMD) to get big pointers?

i got nothing but 600 pointers on my main rig for 3 months. It does happen. i even know of a bloke who folds for custompc that has his own "fishing" server which assigns QMD's to his P4 and dual xeon rigs, he has had nothing but QMD's for 4 months

Yep, same here AkXb70. If you use the right flags then you shouldn't have a problem getting QMD's non-stop....since putting a 3.0E P4 in this rig about 3 months ago it has never gotten anything except QMD's

Now Im wondering if the new HUGE WU's will give a nice points boost or not....may be the next "QMD's"....but I doubt it....450 a day will be hard to beat...we shall see.
