? ? Motherboard Problem ? ?
I have a new 500W power supply, ASUS A8V motherboard, XFXforce 6800XT video card,AMD 939 3500+ processor, 2 gig of Corsair PC3200 (200Mhz) memory. I tried a registry checker and it says i have all kinds of errors. But i do not trust it to mess with it. I can not get any 3D programs to run with out shutting the computer down. I formatted the "C" drive and installed a fresh XP and did all the security updates and running the latest video card driver 84.36 I rally miss my older ASUS motherboard that told me the problem ! What can I do to get it working properly ? I just downloaded and installed the latest v of the bios. v221 When ti started up it had the normal single deep beep then the others after that. It said the CMOS was wrong. So i checked update and put in my settings. Sill did the 5 beeps. So i did the bios update again and had it go with the default. I even clicked on the use default settings. Then the only thing i changed was DBI output on, and AGP 3.0 calibration cycle on and the graphics up to 256mb I have recorded the sound that the computer makes on start up. It is near the end of the file. Just click on the link below and listen and see if you can tell me what I should be looking for as far as the solution to my problem ? The link >>> http://home.insightbb.com/~thediecas...e060620001.mp3 Here is some more info ?? Conflicts ? http://home.insightbb.com/~thediecastpage/conflicts.jpg Additional Comment: Oops I forgot about the avatar problem. It has been a while since I have been on here. And after my computer totally crashed and I lost all my link, password and settings. i had to wing it and sign back in. I have removed my Spiderman avatar and used you generic one....
