Currently it will take us 3.3 months to catch the team in 16th place. By joining you are helping to shorten that time. Also the more computers you add to our folding team the shorter the time will become.

Folding is.....in my opinion as good as a stress test on the CPU as prime.

FAH is a program that simulates proteins "folding" and when one misfolds, disease occurs. This project helps to find which one in particular does what.

OK Explaining the background stuff

1- All the "work" in your cells is done by proteins. Proteins are *VERY* long strings, and they MUST be "folded" to work correctly. Also, the function of the protein is dependant on the shape, so when a folding error occurs, it screws all sorts of stuff.

The goal of FAH is to simulate and understand better the folding process through the use of hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide.

F@H is not as good as prime95 or CPU burn-in for a couple of reasons. Numero uno, FAH doesnt produce repeatable results because you dont know what kind of work load it is putting on your system. It could range from a number of things. Prime95 puts a constant load on your CPU with repeatable results. Numero dos, if your OCing your proc (which I hope you are), F@H can generate errors and thats exactly what you dont want. lol

But hey, its all cool aint it?

Often, Prime stable boxes will not run FAH because they are NOT stable
