Post your *RETAIL* Conroe/Allendale Overclocks

Im very curious to how well the 6300/6400 allendales compare to their bigger brothers in the overclocking department because with miniscule performance difference with the lack of 2mb of cache extra, I think they could be fast little buggers

Please Post Your:

CPU:
Motherboard:
PSU:
VCORE:
Cooling:
Max OC:
Stable OC:
Idle/Load Temps:

And finally a cpu-z Screenshot of your overclock and tell us how stable it is.

After a few posts we should find out how well the allendales and conroes fair against each other but I have a feeling that the 2mb of cache will allow higher overclocks.

Through out this thread, I have listed the posts were people have posted their overclocks and specs below for easy looking.

Allendale 6400 @ 3.3ghz = http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...0&postcount=18
Allendale 6400 @ 3.6ghz = http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...6&postcount=37

lol, I know how your feeling. I haven't pre ordered any but after buying a 660 last year, in the uk they were pretty expensive, I want to try the lower end and high overclocking spectrum of things.

yeah, but this could also mean with the lower multi's, the motherboard will be maxed out before the cpu.

Nice, don't have that board but then again I don't think I would be brave enough to try modding yet. Seriously though, its gonna be like a week before we start seeing some numbers. I have only seen one post of a guy who went 3ghz+ on the e6300.

I don't have retail conroe yet so I am useless at moment....

I have seen some E6600/step 6/B2's do 4ghz on air so
retail looks very promising.

that's gotta suck, you must be itching to test that board with conroe. And mesce, I think this thread may have been too soon. But if we all band together and stay OT for a few days then this thread will live until someone starts posting numbers.

I'm hoping that my E6400 will arrive on Wednesday. My board and everything should arrive on Wednesday and since I'm off from work I would have all day to play with it.

The 6400 has an 8x and the 6300 has a 7x. I think that's right atleast.

Ummm, I have had a retail E6400 since last friday. I posted my first results as soon as I hooked up my chip.

So far I have been more then pleased with the over all performance of the chip. However, I feel it can get a WAY better overclock, i'm probably going to return my P5W DH for a DQ6..i'll report on progress...

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 ghz
Motherboard: P5W-DH-deluxe MCH @ 1.55V
PSU: OCZ modstream 520 W (700W gameXtreme will be here today)
VCORE: 1.38 V
Cooling: Water (Danger Den TDX, DD D5 pump, BIX2)
Max OC: 3.336 ghz (420 x 8) vCore 1.5v
Stable OC: 3.00 ghz (385 x 8) @ 1.38v
Idle/Load Temps: idle: 18-20C ; load: 24-26C
