new pc dilemmas

hey guyes, i think i'm finally about to upgrade! as always, my budget is a bit low but i'll try to make the best of it

"warning" - this post is a bit long, i'd really appreciate if you took the time to read it and give me your opinion

what i was hoping to buy:
- ASUS P5B
- Core 2 Duo E6300
- Corsair C4 KIT Twin2X (2x1024mb) 667mhz
- ASUS EN7600GT/2DHT
- OCZ 520W Powerstream

but there is always a but...
my current rig (in sig) from which i plan to take the hdd, psu, case, zalman's, fans, fan controller and the dvd-rw drive will go to my brother, when that happens, i will have to get him some cheaper replacements which will cost me about $190 combined, if you noticed, i wanted to buy the ocz powerstream and than i said that i'll take my current psu, well...yeah, that's because i have to pay $190 for the replacements and i can't afford the powerstream and i will probably have to settle down with 2x512mb (of the same memory) because of it, now...you may think i'm crazy for wanting to power my new rig with a 420w chieftec, and maybe i am but after searching through my country's computer shops (the choices are limited...) i didn't find anything that would fit my budget and be better than my chieftec, the best thing i could afford would be the 500w forton, blue power but than i did a little research and found out that it has even worse railes than my chieftec...the psu calculator shows me that all i need is 285w without overclocking (cpu @ 100% utilization) and 365w if i get the allendale to 3ghz using stock voltage (it's what i plan on keeping it at), so the wattage doesn't seem to be a problem, my only concern are the railes...you see, using my current psu for my new rig would allow me to buy a cheap psu for my current rig which will not be overclocked while in use by my brother and saving me approximately $70
than there is the ram problem...do you think that 2x512mb will be a much of a bottleneck for newer games? you will no doubt say yes but than... i'm not a very big gamer, if you than insist that i get 2x1gb because that's the best way to go, i could only count on some cheap kingmax or something similar, i won't get anything less than ddr2 667 for this rig whether it's 2x512 or 2x1024, i was hoping to go with 333x9=3ghz, i'm hoping the p5b can take it...can it? i mean on a regular bases...

please ask if you have some questions and give me your opinion, in the mean time, i'll continue to look for a better psu and ram that i can afford, tnx

Will your zalman fit on your new LGA775 socket?? I believe what you have right now is a skt478.

And instead of getting two 512Mb, you could get a single 1Gb stick of RAM. Would allow you plenty of space to upgrade later.

i'm quite sure my zalman will fit but i'll check it anyways, about the ram...yeah, maybe you're right...thanks
edit: ****...you were right, it doesn't fit! uh...more expenses...
edit2: problem solved, i'll swap it with my friend for an xp-90

what do you think about this ram: DDR2 1024Mb PC5400 PQI, 667MHz
it's cheap but it does hold 667mhz and that would be enough for me, i don't think this could clock any further...

It might do. I am worried that a PSU is gonna be a problem. It might just not have enough juice. Also is your GPU an AGP or PCI-e card? That might be a concern.

That depends on your luck. PQI generally makes pretty good memory but the way they handle them when they're packaged can make you RMA the module.
