The NB heatsink is more than sufficient to not need a fan. If you are having problems, I recommend removing the stock white gunk and replacing it with AS Ceramique. I wouldn't use AS Silver 5 cause it's kinda conductive and the area of coverage looks tight for conductive risks.

Well, AS5 has some conductive property. If you use it for your processor, its ok as there is plenty of room there. However, under your northbridge heat sink, there isn't much room. I would use AS Ceramique there. If you want to just use Ceramique, it's good for your processor too. I just happen to have both and AS5 is suppose to help with a couple more degrees but have the conductive property.

So, where there is an remote risk of zappin stuff, I use Ceramique. NO exp on Zalman, but everyone raves about Arctic Silver's both thermal pastes.

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
I'd use an cpu heatsink off of an old pc, cause an old cpu did as much work as a current northbridge. Wow technology, soon were probably going to use water cooling for our south bridges, and who knows what for the cpu's.

I used AS Ceramique on my NB and SB, temp reading for my motherboard using Systool goes as low as 19.5degrees C. It usually idles at 23 after some hard work.

Once again, stay away from using any remotely conductive paste on these as they are near other components in risk of conductive shock.
