Debating on FSP PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104014 Does this seem like a quality PSU, or is there one better for the money? I plan on running a E6600 w/ 2 hard drives, a 7 maybe 8 series video card, a cd-burner and dvd-burner. Oh and 4 case fans which as of right now are tornado's on a fan controller (hopefully will switch out, the hum is finally getting to me). Thanks for all the help. |

thats a good PSU, but you're better off getting an OCZ Gamexstream 600W as its cheaper and its the same unit as the fortron in your link.

And yes, the OCZ is actually cheaper (go figure.) But I suggest this: http://www.excaliberpc.com/Zalman_Po...id-570882.html http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...odlist=froogle http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...MP=OTC-Froogle (All three are same product, just different vendors to show how much pricing can vary.) It's FSP Epsilon based, but apparently they used different brand and larger caps on the secondary so supposedly the ripple problems associated with the FSP Epsilon/OCZ GameXstream seem to be addressed. Although, if you look at Zalman's website they still show 200mV ripple on the 12V (which is high.) I need to get my hands on one for myself and see where it's at. |

This may be a Zalman only development... the BeQuiet units based on the Epsilon still seem to have the OST/Capxon cap combo the Epsilons usually do.

I am unhappy with a low frequency noise from my FSP 700 - even at idle. Just ordered a PC P&C Silencer 750... hope its quiet..
