NF4 LP Ultra D chipset fan making hella noise. Need sudgestions on replacement.

Ok, So ive had this board for a while and all has been well. Now the chipset fan is makin all kinda of attroacious noises. It still spins but it makes hella racket. Normally i would just go get the best replacement cooler i could get. But this time round is my first time on pci-e, and my video card basically SITS on the heatsink for the chipset. Anyone else with this issue? Basically i need a new heatsink that will be ok with my video card RIGHT there pretty much on it. More or less the original size of the original heatsink. Any sudgestions?

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
Is the fan dying, or is it just the whine that is bothersome? I use the included ITE Smart Guardian to tone the speeds down. At less than 5k RPM is much less annoying than the 7300 RPM it runs at.

Its more of a.....i dunno. Its not a whine at all tho, its more like a grind. I took the video card out to see if the fan was hittin it but it wasnt. That cooler looks good, ill prolly snag that one. Looks like itll fit just fine. Thanks!

That evercool will not only get rid of the noise, it should lower your chipset temps considerably.

I got that same chipset cooler just a few months ago and it has been working great ever since. There haven't been any clearance issues and the temps always stay between 38-43c. Also to mention, it's a lot quieter then the stock chipset fan. Here's a few pics:

I'll third that.

Seriously - $10 investment, put some AS5 on it, and you'll drop the noise AND temps considerably.

Not only that - but if cool buzzing lights are your thing - you now have some more LED's!
