![]() All in all the project is not "fast paced" as long as it is working there's not too much to watcg in terms of progress. I find it more interesting to read about each of the projects, etc. on Stanford's site. |

i dont know bout anyone else, but if your using the console to fold and it show "extra 3dnow boost" and not "extra sse boost" than your not getting fastest results. seems sse is 2x as fast as 3dnow. so when u see 3dnow, i recommend u shutdown the prog and start is up again so it runs with sse. just my 2 cents.

If you have the version 4 console use the flag -forceSSE and if you are using version 3 or earilier then use the -forceasm flag to get the SSE instructions forced.

version 4, where do i get that and is it better than 3. i cant find anything wrong with this version... its just a console.
EDIT: also, i do have the flag forceasm set. but my console alternates between sse and 3dnow. thats why every other one i must close console and open again. Last edited by tohq : 12-31-2003 at 12:21 PM. |

You can get the version 4 console here:
http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html As for it being any better, I imagine that it has some improvements / bug fixes. The whole issue behind the console alternating between the SSE and the 3Dnow sounds like a bug issue to me. |

Are you running 3.24 or 3.25? I know there was a bug in 3.24.
I switched everything to version 4 and use the forcesse flag. |

would dell allow HP ads in there site? its all for the same thing... but they're a rival.
being competitive like that makes it more fun and drives us to get more machines folding, so we can get better scores. which helps the project heaps. |
